Welcome to The Southport School

A Learning Differences School

The Southport School provides transformative educational experiences for students in 2nd through 8th grade with language-based learning differences, like dyslexia, and ADHD/ADD. We recognize individual strengths, promote independent thinking, develop self-esteem and self-advocacy, and supports a successful transition for continued academic achievement. In our co-educational elementary, middle, and summer school programs in Southport, CT, near Fairfield, Darien, Wilton,  Westport, and New Canaan, students can safely take risks and are championed by an expert faculty that is student-focused and uses research and evidence-based approaches.

We Change Lives

Our students are smart, creative, joyful, compassionate, resilient, and they are BRAVE! With a language-based learning disability or attention difficulties, school can be hard. Knowing that they can develop the tools to succeed reignites our students' love of learning.

Since our founding 38 years ago, The Southport School has unlocked the potential of more than 3,500 students. Our students become independent learners for life.
